Inaugural RAM Veteran’s Hunt
The inaugural RAM Veteran’s deer hunt is in the books. Mike, a Navy Veteran, hadn’t been deer hunting for around 10 years. He told me about the great memories he has when he was hunting with his dad when he was younger. We dedicated this hunt to his dad, an Army Veteran, and my grandpa, also an Army Veteran, both who are no longer with us but meant so much to us!
Between the unseasonably warm temperatures and all the rain, it was a strange and difficult hunt this year. We hunted hard and only ended up with a couple does for our efforts. But like I always say, a rough day in the deer woods is still better than a good day at work! While the harvest wasn’t what we had hoped for, we enjoyed our time in God’s beautiful creation, had some great fellowship, and we made some new memories. Sometimes it ends up being more about the connection than the results!
