RAM assists first Veteran & First Responders
A few months ago, RAM was contacted by a couple of out-of-state Veteran’s groups that requested assistance for a young Marine Veteran that had recently relocated to Springfield, MO for work. He was waiting to get paid from his job and was homeless. Initially, we thought about passing the request off to another agency since we weren’t technically active yet, but after praying about it, Paula and I felt led to stand in the gap for this young Veteran. We helped get him a temporary housing option until he was able to get more long-term assistance from another organization. We ended up developing a friendship with him and invited him to our small group, where he surrendered his life to the Lord. We are excited to report that the Veteran now has his own apartment and is receiving VA benefits. His future plans include attending a local college and pursuing a new career path.
More recently, RAM was able to step in and assist a former police officer who was battling cancer, and a deputy who was shot in the line of duty and is going through an extensive rehabilitation process. We are so blessed that God has given us just a little taste of the ways our ministry will be able to step in and help Veterans and First Responders.
